I enjoy shaving with my DE razor, but it does take quite some time as I have to shave my entire head and face, except goatee area. Blades are only 10¢ each, so I only use for one shave.

My razor of choice is a 1954  Super Speed. And yes, it's all about learning the angle. What I really l like about the DE is I can make multiple passes for a super smooth shave and never get any irritation.

One per shave? Wow. I guess I shouldn't feel bad using mine for 3-4 shaves.

I get a couple of shaves from each blade but I shave against the grain so it might be different for some guys.  I'm using a 1912 gillette de and love it!  They sell for next to nothing on ebay.  I've never used the dorco razor but I heard it's good.  It is plastic though so I don't know how long it will last.  I never had a problem with my de and I'm a bit spoiled because nothing I've tried will give a closer shave.  There might be a learning curve but not much.
