Evenin' Gents,
Just stopping in to drop an intro. Been shaving the dome for a couple months, now, nothing fancy. I'm still finding my groove. I want to get into DEs to put a little more effort and ritual into shaving, just getting up the moxie to do it.
I tried my first DE last week and got a couple good slices off. Pretty sure I went too fast, had the angle wrong, wasn't focused, and it was that As Seen on TV Micro Touch with the pawn shop TV show guy on the package. Clearance at WalMart, what can I say?
Looking forward to finding my groove and the products that work for me. My biggest frustration is the oilyoilyoily noggin. I wipe it down several times a day at work just to keep the oil from making my glasses slide. I could
really
use some advice for that part. Gonna try alum and witch hazel tomorrow morning.
Anyway, glad to be here. Looking forward to the good company.

Another newbie, another welcome, so..Welcome, Pub!
The key to DE shaving is to take your time with slow strokes. As far as the oily head, one of my friends says hw uses baby powder. Good luck and participate often!

Welcome Pub , I also have the oily scalp . Just wipe it down when needed , not a big deal. The oil gives a shine which most head shavers want.

Hi Pub: Welcome to the sly fraternity. Glad that you joined us. It's good to see somone else use
DE razors on their head shaves also. We have a Safety Razor Section of the Forum that you should check out. Also... check out
www.badgerandblade.com
it is a great forum that is dedicated to the traditional way of shaving. I am a member there also.
