I shaved my head for the first time a few weeks ago, and I was unsure at first but I have quickly grown to like it.
One thing I have noticed is that other men seem to accord me more respect now, which is a result I was not expecting!
I have also noticed that more het/bi Girls and gay/bi guys are making more eye contact, smiling a lot and generally having more open body language towards me which is a much needed self esteem boost!
My workmates have given me a bit of stick, mainly shouts of "Get a haircut!" but as any Aussie knows, we harass and annoy others as a sign of friendship and I give back as good as I get
