My ears were my biggest concern when I shaved mine. After I did, one jerk that I work with said something about it, but the 100 other people that I interact with never said one thing. My wife even said that she was worried that my ears would look huge, but that they didn't. 4 months later, I still worry about it a little bit, but I found its mostly a me problem, and no one else cares. I say do it for 30 days. Sure, there may be a couple of people that say something, but just do your best to brush it off and move on.

I'm 27, my hair has been thinning and receding since I was 19 or 20. Lately I've been freaking out more and more about my hair falling out and am starting to come around to saying screw it and taking clippers to it. I'm a little nervous because I've always been teased about my ears sticking out by family and friends so I'm worried it will just make them even more noticeable. Here's a couple pics. What do you guys think?

I think you would look fantastic shaved bald. You are a good looking guy and have a great shaped head. Oh and that ears thing, thanks for pointing that out as I would have NEVER noticed if you hadn't. Go for it you don't have a thing to worry about .

Welcome to the board, Hapa.
I think you have a well shaped head, and nothing at all to worry over regarding your ears.
If you want to shave it, the only sure way to find out what you will look like is to do it.
(And you are in good company here about feeling apprehensive. Just about all of us felt that way before we took the plunge and shaved.)

Welcome, Hapa!
I think that you would look great shaved. Maybe grow your facial hair out a little to enhance your bald head (if you can). Good luck in whatever you decide.

Do it. Your strong features will take center stage when your hair isn't competing with them.

I can't see that your ears stick out anymore than anyone else's.
Can't hurt to give it a try?

You have very nice ears. They aren't "thick", they aren't asymmetrical, they are even on your head, (mine are not). If you have nice ears - flaunt them!

It looks like you've got a nice shaped head, so I think you'd probably look very good shaved. But only one way to know for certain.

Just my $0.02, but if anything, I think a clean shave would remove the contrast, making your ears less noticeable, if anything. But, hey, "what do I really have to lose?" That's how I looked at it. If I didn't like the shave, I knew my misery would be fully refunded in a few weeks and I'd have my receding hairline right back in no time. Only you know what's best, though. Lots of good dudes on this board await you with crazy amounts of courage, hope, strength, and wisdom. Self confidence has been the biggest benefit for me, and I am grateful to have been recently described as having an all new, "non-egotistical confidence" by several people, and all I changed was my hair (or lack thereof)!

In my experience ...
confidence comes from TAKING CHARGE !!, by choosing Bald over balding !!
after your sly for awhile you will begin to feel sorry for all the guys worried about loosing hair, and the millions they spend trying to prevent it.
