Hello all,
Brand new to the forum, but appears that this is the place for me. Im 27 now with significant hairliss, and 3 years ago i made, what ive decided just today, a mistake when i got a FUE (not the strip method) HT around my hairline and mid-front area of scalp. Since then, the mid and back areas of the scalp have had sigmificant hairloss. I have recently been told by a hair restoration doctor that 'if you shave your head, your FUE scars will look like little white dots and will be noticeable, since it appears that the other place you went to used a bigger than 1mm punch'. I have come to the conclusion that i dont want another HT since i am still young and hairloss will progress.. I am trying to work myself up to shave it off. Does anybody have experience with a shaved head after an FUE procedure, and how does it look? Is there any merit to what the doc was sayin? (Besides the obvious sales pitch)
Thanks
I thought the whole idea of the FUE process was to minimize scarring. There are scar dermabrasion procedures you can have done to make them less visible. A few guys here have had it done and can advise you.
I had HT and of course regret it. What I did find was using a Fraxel laser on the donor scars reduced them somewhat. But what really helped is micro tattooing all over as in my avatar. All the various HT scars are 95% concealed. I went to HIS Hair for it 2 years ago and remained happy and shaved with no scars visible.
I have massive scars on my head which I'm am currently having revised with V-beam laser treatments. Go to a dermatologist who specializes in laser scar reduction and see what the best course of action is. I'm having mine corrected because they are very hypertrophic. You may not need to even do anything for yours. Good luck
