Hello from RI newbie

Greetings
I'm on my second week of shaving my head, face daily. I'm using Harry's blades and gel so far so good.
During the week I shave at the sink, weekends in the shower. At sink quick wash, shave and a healthy dose of "Bump Patrol. I have had some challenges with some large scars but modified routine to accommodate.
So far I love it any advice on techniques or products would be greatly appreciated. I manage a foundry so I wear safety headgear and sweat a lot. Any products that can help with scalp irritation that you can recommend would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John

Welcome, John!
I work at a plant myself and I have to wear a hard hat most of the time. On days I know I will be in the dust and/or heat a lot, I usually wear a skullcap or stocking cap under my hardhat. Two things you may want to add to your routine: rub your head with an ice cube after shaving and make sure to wash your bedwear as the buildup of sweat on your pillowcases can cause a breakout. As far as the scars, I guess they're surgical, and if that is the case, a dermatologist could offer some suggestions on how to minimize them (I have about four or five on my head but thanks to some good medicine, you'd hardly know they were there). Once again, welcome to the board, and nice avatar, BTW!

Good advice on skull cap, already pretty regular about pillow cases and will give the ice a shot. Wife will love that one lol.
Cave, I using Harry's Winston handle, five blade cartridge and their shave gel.
Sir Harry, the avatar is from one of my favorite horror movies and ironically how my head felt after my first rookie head shave.
Cheers
John

Hi John. Welcome aboard! I usually shave with a DE razor, but when I don't I use my Harry's. I've got the Truman and like it a lot. You'll find lots of good advice here.
I'm in Manchester, CT.

Welcome to Sly Bald Guys, John. A product that you might like is Thayers Witch Hazel, made in Connecticut. Here's their website:

Is witch hazel used before or after shaving. Do you know if any brick and mortar stores carry it.
Thanks for the tip.
Cheers

you can get witch hazel at any drug store/wal mart or target etc. it may be a generic or thayers or dickinsons....it's all pretty much the same. you use it as an aftershave...apply a liberal amount to the freshly shaved dome and let it air dry.

Welcome to the group! You'll find lots of good advice and suggestions here.
I've been using Aveeno Postively Smooth Shave Gel and Aveeno After Shave Lotion. Also a few drops of Shave Secret shave oil on the gel helps the razor glide smoothly. You'll find many on here that use it or some other type of pre-shave oil.
