Bald is Beautiful But.......
« on: December 08, 2014, 11:54:35 PM »
Hey guys.. I finally made the decision to shave it all off due to hair loss and hair line receding which is related to genetics. The problem I have is that on my scalp I have several red/brown spots and it's just on the top of my head not the sides. Is this normal? I don't have any skin problems that I know of. Will this go away? I posted pics below. Thanks in advance guys and btw this site is freaking awesome!!

Hmm, I don't really see anything that looks abnormal to me. I just see a nice bald head!

Could be a little irritation, razor burn... It takes your head a while to adjust to being shaved.... I had the odd red patch for a couple of weeks.... Witch hazel is good for calming it down

Welcome, Flo_DR

When I started shaving with a razor almost seven years ago, I had a few patches here and there. It's just your skin making an adjustment to being shaved. Give your scalp time to adjust.

Yeah, that's just a little irritation with your head getting used to the razor.  Take your time in the beginning, slow smooth passes with a light touch and your skin should feel less irritated.  You don't need to apply alot of pressure to shave the head smoothly.  In time, once your skil gets used to it, you'll see far less of that, if any at all.  I still get the occasional redness when I hurry my shave and press down too hard.
