I don't understand why your piercer used "freezing spray".  What country do you live in?  I have a number of piercings and I have never seen any piercer use chemicals like that?

And, I guess I don't understand why you would want to dull the sensation.  Isn't that the point of getting a piercing - the pain/adrenaline rush?

I live in the UK.

The piercer had two kinds of numbing agent: a freeze spray for the nipples and another kind numbing liquid for of other types of piercings - eg genitals.

Even with the freeze spray, both nipple piercings did hurt. But it was followed by that adrenaline rush.

This is day 3 of the piercings: they still feel a little tender and I'm careful not to catch them when moving my arms.

Mr Jules -- friendly advice, offered only because I want your piercing experience to be good, take it or leave it :-)  I pierced people for several years and have sooner or later gotten everything pierced. I continue to keep up with the state of the art. Tea tree oil is FAR too powerful and irritating for a fresh piercing, even if you cut it with a neutral oil.  ANY kind of oil or lotion is not recommended, because it blocks the wound from getting air. If your piercer recommended tea tree oil, he's flat out wrong. The fact he used freezing spray is another clue to me that he's not aware of the worldwide standard practices for piercings, or doesn't care.

When you shower in the morning, let the dry crud melt off each side of each piercing without moving the rings. After it's gone, soap them up with just a little bit of the mildest soap you can, and not with antibacterial chemicals in it such as triclosan. Rinse thoroughly. Let them air dry. Don't touch them with a towel. Towels have bacteria on them after only one use.  Don't touch the rings or rotate them for any reason between showers. When you no longer have dry crud on them when you wake up in the morning, you are most of the way healed. If you follow these guidelines, your piercings will stop being sore and will heal in no time.

Once they heal, you're going to love them.  I've had mine done for a few years.  I haven't regretted it.  I liked them even more after stretching to larger gauges.  I started at 14ga and went to 6ga. 10ga is where they stopped feeling delicate for me.  Healing time is difficult because all you want to do it touch them.

So which was more painful, the first one "down there", or the nipples?

I would say the nipples were slightly more painful than when I got the Prince Albert done. Still, overall the combination makes for a nice "trio".

To each his own but this falls into the "No thanks" category for me. Ouch!

Listen to what steeltoes says re healing. that is the advice I was given and had no issues at all and no pain after the first 48 hours. Had mine done about 15 years ago and never regretted it. Dont think I am brave enough to have a PA though

As long as you have a PA, you might as well go for a wand or, better yet, a wand with a circ ring that screws in though your PA!  I'm just sayin'!
