Bug Spray?

<< < (2/3) > >>

reddog:
I walk at a wooded park almost everyday, and I use OFF in the spritz bottle. It is scent free and not greasy at all. Mosquitos are know as the Minnesota state bird!

reddog:
Found this on facebook

Skip the HARSH store bought stuff and MAKE your own MOSQUITO REPELLENT!!!!!!!!
Combine in a 16 oz bottle:
 15 drops lavender oil
 3-4 Tbsp of vanilla extract
 1/4 Cup lemon juice.
Fill bottle with water. Shake.Ready to use. Make some extra to gift to your family & friends.

ksshane:
Thanks reddog.  I might just give that a try.

LOL... When I was in the Army at FT Jackson SC we use to say that the misquito was the state bird there as well.   :XX

EarlD:
@ksshane- I remember the mosquitos at Ft. Jackson as well. Spent the summer there in Basic Training from July-Sept 1975.

2nd Platoon C51.

I try to stay away from bug sprays. If the bugs are really bad, I'll wear a wide brimmed hat with a fine mesh bug netting that comes down around my head.

I'm going to have to give that homemade bug spray a try.

wutwutman:
Here in Michigan we breed mosquitoes by the ton! lol  I am in the club of not liking bug spray, especially the smell.  But I can concur on the effectiveness of Skin So Soft.  It also doesn't smell too bad.

I also use the scentless OFF in the spritz/mist bottle.  I usually wear a hat to protect the dome as I hate spraying that crap up there ;)
