To quote Mayor Shinn, from "The Music Man" young man, watch your phraseology! To be "totally bald" would mean you had no hair anywhere toe to dome. Someone, I don't, nor do the other respondents, think that's what you mean. Now, to brass tacks.
There is no "best" reason to be totally bald. If YOU like it then..that's your best reason.

As for me, it's best to be totally bald because I look the best when I am. I also look forward getting up in the morning and shaving my head in the shower every day. I've also had a very close buzz but those buzzcuts don't do me justice. A clean bald head is the way to go for me.

RayJ, as I may have said in other posts and threads, the purpose of this forum is not to get everyone to shave their head (though that's what 98% of our membership does). The idea is to convince people that they can still live a full life without a full head of hair (and having to blow money on "hair programs"). Most, if not all, of the members here shave because it is their choice and they are happy....If you are happy with the buzz, then we are happy too, and you are just as valued as a member as those who do shave. Glad to see that you are happy with what you have now.

Mayor Shinn also said "Not one poop out of you!", to which his wife replied, " I think he meant peep."
One of my favorite movies.

I like the feel of a wet shave in the shower vs the feeling of an electric buzz out.

Whether a hairstyle suits someone or not --- it's not only visual thing, but also mental thing, I think. If we really like our own style, we behave confidently and its confidence will help to look better --- It's my opinion. Because all guys on this forum like and love their own shaved head in principle (otherwise they don't come here...), I see confidence on their face, then they naturally look good. The important thing is that you are satisfied of your own style. When you can like 100% your hairstyle, you look the best :-)

The encouragement I perceive in this community, is not to convince you that wet-shaving to absolute baldness is the best way, but to overcome the fear and TRY cutting all your hair off, even if that's just a short buzz, to see if you like it.
For myself, I prefer a wet shave because I like the shine afterward, the smoothness when I run my hand across it, and the fact that all the little hairs go down the shower drain. The part of a wet shave I don't like is splashing alcohol over my entire scalp to keep from getting bumps, but the blood-curdling scream coming from the bathroom is worth not getting them.

I agree with Steeltoe. I love the feeling of being completely wet shaved...but I also like the look of a shadow after a day after shaving as well. Its all about supporting men in making the bold step to either go bald or not...whether buzzed, wet shaved, plucked, waxed, etc...
