Getting the back of your neck
« on: February 12, 2014, 11:07:01 PM »
I am BBC :)  have been sly for 8 months now and absolutely love it :@`! My skin is sensitive so I only shave my head twice a week. I love the baby's butt smooth feeling right after the shave. But I do have on persistent problem...I can never totally get the lower back of my head and neck totally smooth  5t*mp. I shave with he grain first then re-lather and shave against the grain; but can neve totally get the back of the neck completely hair free.

Does anyone else have this issue and how can I get that trouble area completely smooth when rubbing against the grain?  @n(

There is a spot on the back of my head that no matter which way or how many times I go over it it feels like sand paper...it looks smooth but always feels like stubble..I posted a thread last week about it...so you're not the only one I just decided as long as it wasn't a patch hanging out back there it would be alright..

Welcome to the club Tantrix. BBC is an awesome look and feel!

I have the same issue with the back of my neck and I have been shaving for years. I rarely get it perfect. I just shave with and against the grain with a few swipes of the razor. I learned not to keep going over the same spot too much otherwise I would end up with a rash or nick.

Just as long as I don't miss any hairs I am fine.

What has helped with sensitivity is using King of Shave Oil and then apply a shaving gel on top of that. Then start shaving. That has eliminated rashes for me.

I also highly recommend a preshave oil. They really do aid in getting the smoothness.

I found that my neck gets a much smoother shave when I start at the shoulder and work my way up taking a series of very short swipes (about an inch in length) going across my neck horizontally in rows. Long passes with the razor going all the way up the neck don't do much for me.

Yep, I can only shave the back of my neck with the grain, rest of my head is fine with against.

I only shave in one direction around the neck area so no problems here

In my case, it seems like the whole area of my neck (below the cranium) can be hard to shave....and that's an area if I don't use witch hazel across, I will get bumps in a hurry. Also, with surgical scars, and SD, I have to shave like every other day to keep from breaking out. Oddly enough, I have to shave that area twice, sometimes even three times to get the smoothness that I have on the sides and top.
