I've been using clippers with no guard for over 16 years having only paid for a haircut once or twice in that time. I only put the razor on my head going sly once in that time frame.  That is up until a little over a month ago.  I started shaving my head "just because".  I'm a bald by choice coonass with no reason to shave other than it's MY CHOICE and I wanted to do so!  lol  I haven't had any negative reactions I suppose mostly due to the fact that I kept it buzzed down anyways.  My 5 year old loves how soft my head is!  My wife wishes I'd keep my face as smooth as my head now.  May have to work on that to keep her happy!

Just wanted to share my experiences in what I have tried and what I have found to work for me. 

I like the HB ATX to start and finish with a Fusion Pro Glide getting the few rough spots that I seem to always have.  Can't seem to get it baby butt smooth with only the ATX.  I do use Head Slick Shave Cream.  I use the Aveeno Active Naturals for men Face Wash prior to shaving and straight rubbing alcohol after I shave.  It works for me. 

I just tried the Schick Hydro 5 and hated it.  Didn't even get half my dome done before reaching for the ATX. 

I tried the Head Shed and it is much grittier than the Aveeno and may take some time to get used to it. 

The only place I notice any bumps/ingrown hairs is on the back of my head close to my neck.  I will try the Clear Head first and if that doesn't work I have some Bump Patrol Max Strength ready to go on the sink! 

I have been shaving every other day for close to a month now but may try once again going every day.  My hair grows REALLY fast and when I shave at night it's like sand paper in some spots when I wake up!  I just don't shower to start my day so evening is what it is! 

Anyway I just wanted to share my Sly Story with you all!  I've picked up a LOT of useful info here and enjoy reading through all the threads when something peaks my interest!  I've been looking into wet shaving with safety razors recently.  I may have stories about that in the near future!  ha ha!!  I'll just have to experiment on my face before jumping to my head!

Thanks for sharing your story, Buddy...Nice goatee, BTW. One thing that I always do after a headshave is rub my head with an ice cube immediately after shaving. The ice cube closes the pores and I very rarely get bumps. Also you may want to invest in some witch hazel....It's good for your head after shaving and does not burn like alcohol and after shave does. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Good deal Buddy! I use the Fusion Pro-Glide and find it gives me the smoothest shave.  I also shave every other day but I think at some point I might become an every day shaver just to keep the head smooth all the time, although granted, I don't mind one day's growth. 

Only because I'm partial to the bald and bearded look, but have you tried growing the full beard?  Although that is a pretty cool goatee!

I agree with DOC-OSMC that a full beard would look awesome although the goatee is very dramatic.

Thanks for all the replies and tips!  I'll try the ice tip tonight!  As for the beard, yeah, I've had it but not when shaving my head this way.  I went about 9-10 months without so much as trimming my hair and went just over 3 months without trimming my beard up until October last year.  My brother was in a pretty rough accident and couldn't walk unassisted for a while.  I jokingly said I'll not trim my head until he walks unassisted and I was pretty long haired when he finally was moving on his own.  I'll try to post some pics.  Be kind!  lol  Like I said in my introduction post...I am bald by choice and my hair grows fast so it doesn't take long to grow out.  My face either!  Here are a few pictures of the mess I was before deciding to clean up and go for it all with a blade.  It's odd that I'm keeping up with my head because truth be told I never really was fond of shaving my face.  Only did it because I had to working part time with the Sheriff's Office.  If it weren't for them I'd probably never shave my face!  This was the LONGEST my hair had ever been!  9 months was tough to do but I did it, my brother is healing and that's all that matters!!  Anyway here are a few pics that capture my most recent transition to being SLY!!
