Looking for recommendations on electric shavers for head shaving

Hello all!

I'm new here.  Glad to see there is a community like this online =). Was wondering if anybody had any recommendations on electric shavers for shaving your head (the ones that typically have the 3 rotating round blades).  The thing is, I've been shaving my head using the electric shaver I have but it gives me the bic'd head look which I am actually trying to avoid.  Does anyone know if there are electric shavers out there with length adjustment capabilities (something that could give a cut that is a little longer than completely bic'd, maybe the length of a 0 or 1 with clippers)? I prefer shaving my head with an electric shaver because it is much cleaner than using clippers and like i mentioned, I'm trying to avoid the bic'd head look.  If any body has any input or alternatives, that would be great! thanks all!

You'll hear this over and over but...Wahl Balding Clippers. Remember something that seems to get lost; If you still have hair, over all or part of your head and if it's dark in colour, nothing will conceal that, within a few hours of shaving, clippering, whatever, you'll have a shadow of some sort.

Any of the Wahl clippers are a fine choice but from experience they do leave some stubble.
To finish the job check out the Panasonic Linear Shavers. They're wet/dry so they can be used with shaving cream/gel in the shower or they can be used with a pre-shave like Lectric Shave or Afta. If you choose Lectric Shave make sure you clean the blades thoroughly when you're done. From what I've heard the Lectric Shave will cause corrosion if it's left on the blades.

In the summer, when v hot i use a Panasonic ES-RF31-S 

and

other times i use a Wahl Balding Clipper and a Wahl cordless lithium for touch ups 

But I'm in the market for a cordless that gets down to a #000000

If you don't want a completely shaved look, try the Andis T-Outliner.

I actually own both the wahl balding clippers and the andis t outliners. Thanks for the recos but my question was do they make electric shavers (not clippers, the type that's usually 3 round blades or the metalic strips) that has a length adjustment option. Thanks!

Yeah something along the lines of those panasonics but with a length adjustment or do they just not make something like that? No clean up with these types of shavers

I considering getting an electric razor for travel. Is there a recommendation for one that works on both beards and heads?

Try the Oster Fast Feed, I use them on customers and it won't give that Bic'd look. Here's how short it cuts with the lever open. plus are you from South Carolina?

thanks for the reco, nope, i'm from the western coast. i guess they just don't make electric shavers with length adjustments...they really should, i prefer the ease of using electric shavers because of no clean up but whenever i bic length my head, my skin starts to get irritated

I just got my Panasonic Arc4 ES-LA63-s from Amazon and will be firing it up for the first time in the morning.  Will report back.

Well, it's only been three shaves with my new Arc4 but I'm very impressed at how smooth my melon feels.  Even with just three shaves under my belt with this machine I'm getting pretty darn close to baby butt smooth.  Very impressed with the quality of the shave. 

The first shave was right after a nice hot shower.  The Arc4 had some traction because of the humidity still in the bathroom but I still got a damn nice shave.  The second shave was dry, before my shower with equal result.  This morning I waited about 5 minutes after getting out of the shower before shaving and again, I was impressed with the results.  Tomorrow I'm going to try a shave using Lectric Blade after the shower and before I shave and see how things go.  It is taking about 10 minutes for a full shave.  Getting used to the handle is going to take awhile and I can only imagine that my shaving experience with the Arc4 will improve as I get more accustomed to the shaver.

The Arc4 gets a full charge in only an hour.  After completing my shave this morning the charge was down to 60%.
