Buzzed me

Hey all.

I just registered here, and like to be a part of the community. ( http://www2.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?topic=23376.0)

Reactions towards me after I buzzed down. My loss was not noticeable before, but I quit medication due to sides and therefore I knew it would become noticeable soon, so I decided to come first and buzz down.

Reactions where, at least most of them, not very good. Most of women said I looked better before, some guys commented about me getting bald, and most of the guys thought I lost a bet. Nowadays I think everyone accepted me buzzing down, as comments about it, at least from friends stopped.

Unfortunately I registered and loss of attraction towards girls ( especially the younger ones as I only turned 20, and a buzzed head with deep temples is not very accepted in this age), but yeah that's the way to go and I hope to find some nice discussions over here.

At least, just a picture made in the bath mirror, just give me an opinion if I should continue buzzing down, or should try to grow long as kind of a haircult would be still possible ( maybe)

You look good like that.  Before too long, you will meet some new girls who didn't know you before, so they won't be too heavily opinionated.

I've got to agree, I think you look just fine. It's a change and will require time for people who knew the "old" you to adjust.

Growing your hair out would be, as you acknowledge, a temporary "solution."

Isn't it better to make the change now, allow it to become part of you, and move on with life? Otherwise you will always be dreading "when" is the right time to buzz it down.

Life is too short to worry about hair. And not to worry, new girls will come into your life and see you for the good guy you are.

My opinion is to buzz down totally to the skin or even shave smooth. I think then it will be more of a even look for you. Now it looks like you are just going bald even with the buzz. But buzzing all way or shaving smooth removes that look of not having all the hair growing and will look fine on you.

you look good buzzed.  Personally at your age many years ago I buzzed my very short and kept it that way.  It just became me.

Check out the section about the 30 day rule. It can equally apply to buzzing your head.  Give yourself and your friends 30 days review before making a decision about whether you really like it or not. Going from hair to buzzed is a change and it will take a short while to adjust, but as another poster said, it would be long, and new friends come along who did not know you with hair and they will accept you as you are.

From my experience, when I buzzed short, then gradually shorter and shorter, no one seemed to notice and when I got the razor out and went from almost bald to bald, it took most several days to notice! Especially family members.

Welcome. Give it some time. You look good with the buzz for now.  If you decide that the buzz shows too much receding hair or bald spots, then just go for a razor shave. The spots don't show up as much.

The 30days are long over, I buzzed for the first time 7 months ago, first I really liked it, but  as hair continued falling out I tappered down to make the difference between scalp and hair less noticeable, and sometimes I really wish my hair back.

Sometimes I feel bit depressed 'bout this because one aspect is really hard - girls and women. I wouldn't care and I don't care what other guys think about my head, I know that I 've developed a stronger personality just because my hair fall out, but you can't deny the fact that no hair is not very attractive in this age when almost nobody suffers from a receding hair line.

Well krx, I have not found that to be true for me. I am BBC, and used to get lots of comments about my shiny silver hair. Maybe it's because I'm older, but many women love my bald look. I know many gals prefer hair, but I would say more than 50% like bald guys.

I think you may be mistaken there 

A lot of guys do have receding hairlines, and yes, for some of us it became noticeable in our early 20s.  You've got to decide what is going to make you feel more comfortable in yourself.

Although a full head of hair may be most attractive (although in my case I'd say the jury is out on that one), fully shaven or buzzed is certainly a much better look than balding.

Maybe it's an "older guy" thing - but for me, I've had (mostly) positive comments about me adopting the shaved look.  And that's been comments from ladies (and not just the older ones either!).

It s a difference if you start receding in your late teens or in your early 20's .

Of course buzzed is better than balding, but a full head of hair is definitively more attractive, and everybody in my age has this, and I have to "compete" with them.

Slightly unfair, the balding guy has to be better in most of the other aspects to outrun this disadvantage.

That's all.

I know most of it is in my head, but preor balding I was above average, and girls looked and me and smiled, just a big sign of interest. Since buzzing almost no girl is looking at me without talking to them, of course when I approach them girls look at me ( besides when I am wearing my beanie as it's coldoutdoors.) I don't want to outline my self-pitty I just want to demonstrate my worries as I did not have any sexual interaction with any women since buzzing besides one make out.

The issue may not be your buzzed/shaved head as much as your lack of self-confidence.

If you are feeling "less than" that attitude will be broadcast to others. If you regain your former confidence I expect the attention from girls will also return.

I don't know what the environment is like in Germany, but here in the southern U.S. it is not uncommon to see young guys (late teens and 20s) with either a really tight buzz cut or totally shaved head. Seems to becoming more and more popular.
