Hey there,
My name is Evan. Hairline receding ever farther back since I was 18.
At first it caused me some distress, but I've found there are worse things in life. I've always liked wearing hats, so no problem on that front. Going to the barber I just mention my hairline is receding and voila: great haircut.
I've been telling myself that as I approach my late twenties I'd considering shaving it all off. I'm 26 now and not quite ready yet, but the time is fast approaching.
Anyway, hello to you all!

Welcom efev,
When you decide to shave it off, this community will be great support for you. In the meantime, pull up a chair and contribute ... plenty of conversation for the hairy and hairless 'round here.

Hello efev,
A lot of us were where you are now. Absolutely there are worse things in life. You have a great attitude. I was not so smart at 26.
I always liked wearing hats, too, and it' s much better now that I'm bald - no longer have to worry about "hat hair!"
This is a great forum and if you decide to shave it all off, we're here for support!

Welcome, efev!
No rush on our part for the shave. You have to be ready for it.
!!!WARNING!!! Men who visit this site may be inclined to fall into the compulsion of shaving their heads much earlier than they originally thought.
....just sayin'

I discern that the itch is already there so don't be surprised if you shave sooner rather than later.

Glad you joined us, Efev.
If you found a barber who can cut a balding head of hair and do a good job, congratulations. It took me several attempts (and a lot of bad hair cuts) before I found one who did not think all balding men wanted comb overs or something to mask the bald spots.
Take all the time you need or want to make your decision. Just be aware that the most common question asked on this board after a guy goes smooth is: "Why didn't I do this sooner?"
Welcome!

Welcome, Evan.
Several comments:
1. Please join in the conversation and read through the discussions of interest.
2. It's OK to not shave your head bald right away. I did not.
3. Expect your interest in head shaving to increase dramatically as you read.
4. If you set a date to shave your head someplace down the road, it's OK to jump the gun and shave sooner!

I did.
5. Once you do shave your head, expect to feel like this, "I should have done it sooner". This is a very common thread in the testimonies of the guys who go for it the first time.
6. Once you do shave your head, it is unlikely that you will ever want to grow it back.
7. Be sure to read and heed the 30 day rule section.
8. Have fun with SlyBaldGuys.com You are part of a group of 10,000 world wide men, interested in head shaving.

The itch to shave will never go away until you do it, but you have to be ready. Welcome.
