Welcome newbeginning!
Firstly, welcome to SBG! Great to have you here.
As far as your hair goes, I think you'll probably grow to love the bare clipper buzz as it is pretty wonderful. But one day, I just went really short to not have to cut it so often and by the end of the day I was smooth!
You'll often find yourself at a point where you stop asking 'what if?' and start saying 'what about now?' Looking at my extremely short hair, I knew it was only a matter of time... and it wasn't even 2 hours later that I was smooth and loving it!
If you're comfortable with the buzz cut, let it stick around and let people get used to it. My own hair was so short and had been for a long time that most people didn't notice it. I bet you'll experience pretty much the same reaction but, like many others, I love the smooth feel and look of sly.
Good luck and keep us updated on how you're doing !!
go for it - like others have said, you have the girlfriend's blessing. I personally have found it to be quite liberating - no more worrying about receding, thinning hair that I just KNEW you could see through to my scalp when the sun hit the top of my head. After a few days, I've never felt as comfortable in my own skin (so to speak!).
I did the same thing - buzzed it shorter and shorter until one one Friday I went to the drugstore and bought the headblade. Took a deep breath and started shaving. After rinsing the cream off, I was freaking ecstatic!
I do miss the banter at the barbershop but I guess going in for an occasional shave will have to do!
'Take a deep sigh'. Important part. First pass with the razor and you are committed to the shave. Pretty intimidating the first time, but worth it.
Perhaps you can just hang out at the barber shop like on the old Andy Griffith Show. You don't have to need a shave or trim to sit there and talk .... might even be good business for the barber -- see how good a head shave looks ...
Hey, I know this is an old post, but I was wondering about an update? I know exactly how you feel. I was so nervous when I told my wife that I was gonna shave it.. Which isn't the first time I said it.. It would normally end in a joke with her saying no, but a few days ago when I was cutting my hair I told her again. This time the response I get is "Do it!" (with a reassuring smile on her face). I was nervous and shakey the whole time.. When it was done though I couldn't have been happier.
