• Hi,
  
  So I'm going bald so I shaved my head with a DE razor, which was difficult 
  
  I cut myself at the back, but noticed I already had bumps on my head I'd not seen before (pesky hair)
  
  
  
  I want to keep it nice and smooth, but I think shaving everyday to keep that would aggravate things.
  
  Should I let my head heal before shaving again (that'll take ages?)?   Any advice?

• What I've found is that if I shave every day I have fewer bumps and irritation.

  I think we all have sliced ourselves a few times. I would give the cut area a few days to seal up before I shave it again. Just shave around it until then.
  
  This is a learning process the same as it was when you started shaving the beard.

• Shave around it and use a trimmer if needed to go over it.

  I have had the same problem as you with head bumps. I have used headblade clear head which helps some. I have also haad the same problem using a DE razor. It takes a lot of proactice to get it down. I am not there yet.
  
  As far as the bumps go, I have also used a product called Sea Breeze that I picked p in a grocery store. it is fairly cheap here in the USA.
  
  After I shave the noggin, I always rinse my head thoroughly with cold water. After that I use some witch hazel which sooths the head. After that I appply some aloe vera gel and then a good head moisturizer such as headblade glossy head lube or bald guyz moisture gel.

• Welcome Boris!, I started shaving my head with a DE once I got used to head shaving, but I feel that first time head shavers need to practice with another razor for the first few shaves before going to a DE. When using a DE, you need to take your time  because cuts on the head can be pretty nasty... The back of your head doesn't look that bad, some cortisone cream could help clear it up. What do you use after you shave? Good luck!
  
  On a side note here are some things you can use when shaving with a DE
  1. a shaving brush
  2. Ice cubes for after your shaves
  3. for razor bumps, some broken up aspirin mixed in some water to coat over the breakout area.

• Hey Boris, ive noticed that shaving everyday actually causes less irritation as long as your using good products, ive shaved lots of times with cuts or nicks and as long as i took my time and went slowly over those areas it was fine, try using some shaving oil underneathe your shaving cream, it will give you a smooth glide during shaving and help with the irritation. Shave secret is under 5 bucks at the store 5-10 drops should do you right every shave. Ive never used a DE razor before im a little hesitant i think i would probably cut my dome of steel if i attempted to use one. Im also a big fan of Clubman nick relief for minor nicks and cuts, it stings a little but stops the bleeding right away. I hope this helps!

  Thank you all so much for the lovely welcome and advice - Nicest. Forum. Ever.
  
  So it's been three days, and it's probably worse now - I shaved about 10 minutes ago and took some pictures.
  
  I've ordered a Headblade and Shave Secret (a bit of a pain in England) which will be arriving soon, I'm hoping they will help, but wondering if these are normal cuts/bumps that can be cured with better shaving/products or not.
  
  I will say I haven't shaved everyday though, as some of you have mentioned - waiting for the headblade to do that as with my DE it's a bit time consuming to shave carefully all over
  
  How I shaved today:
  

  • Hot Shower
  • HeadSlick
  • DE WTG
  • Rinse
  • Alum Block (don't usually use this, but have it from shaving my face)
  • Nivea For Men Post Shave Cream

  Looking at some of the spots, could it just be skin discolorations that may need some type of prescription cream? I think the pictures in your second post look much better than in the first. • This look like simple irritation of skin to me.  If you keep the shaving more frequent it will more than likely clear away soon.  Stop using anything with menthol as this can cause bump to seem more red due to mild irritation.  Hydrocortisone can make this stop.
