Update. I'm approaching my two year mark and there's been no looking back.
One of the best decisions I've ever made. I'm bald (and bearded) for good.

after years are you still seeing a shadow? with lighter hair may not be noticeable to others. I also use a Hydro 5 - find easier ATG on sides.

I also use the Hydro 5 as I believe I get less tendency for cuts with it. I shave daily and finjd on the sides ATG much easier. I use feel more than the mirror - I don't shave in shower.
