I'm new, I'm sly :)
« on: November 08, 2013, 01:33:49 PM »
Hi guys (and gals),

My name's Tim. I'm 30 and live in Pennsylvania. I have two cousins who also have decided to go sly before age 30. My decision was partially because of the extreme thinness on top of my dome, and partially for another reason. I first went sly in 2006, two days before surgery to remove a brain tumor. I kept my head shaved for a year or two, then went back to a very short cut (1/4 to 1/8") for a few years, and a few months ago went back to sly (and am loving it as much as I did before!). I have to thank the members on here for some great product recommendations (HeadBlade and their creams, anyone?) and great advice and tips as well! Also, thanks to this forum for the much-appreciated discount on HeadBlade products. My doctors tell me that I will likely need another surgery to clean out tumor regrowth in the future, and besides that, sly is just better! :)

Tim

Welcome, Tim!

We are with you all the way, man!   I'm glad you have two cousins sporting the look too.. that's pretty cool.  If somebody makes a bald joke at a family reunion, they might have a fight on their hands...lol.

I'm glad you joined us!

Great to have you join us, Tim.

Sorry your incentive to go Sly was so serious, but I am glad you are liking it.

Welcome Tim!

Glad you joined us (in more ways than one...  ;D ) - the sly look rocks and feels even better!

Sorry to hear about the serious nature behind the sly look at first, I hope that if such serious measures are needed in the future, your recovery will be quick and complete.

Hope to see you around the forum - and have fun being sly!

Thanks for all your kind welcomes! I'm very glad to be here!

I probably will need additional surgeries from time to time as there is no way to get 100% of the cancer cells out through surgery. At least I have yet to require chemo and/or radiation, which is good as I have mixed feeling about going that route. I see my neurosurgeon next month for a yearly check, and I'll certainly let everyone know when I know more. As long as the tumor regrowth is slow, there's no hurry to the operating room, I suppose.
