My Ultimate Clipper Quest > HELP!!!
« on: November 04, 2013, 08:39:08 AM »
Hello Everyone :-*

As some of you may know, I started my self grooming process 8 months ago now.

I started off with a Philips Norelco QC5550 cordless balding clipper, which I worked my way down to using without a guard and then on holiday abroad in the baking heat this summer, used the balding attachment and went sly. I then invested in a Panansonic ES-RF31 and stayed sly for 2-3 months, then the better half decided she wasn't keen and liked me with at least a bit of hair.!  :popo

Since I had sold my Philips Norelco QC5550 balding clippers and in between bought some Wahl Balding Clippers, the Wahl became my weapon of choice and that what I'm currently using today. They cut really low, have ample power, but can me a little heavy and cumbersome to use at times.

The Philips Norelco QC5550 were excellent for balding, but did not cut low enough with the clipper attachment and lacked power. I did love the cordless aspect tho.  :)

The Panasonic - are perfect for a true sly cut. Quick, lightweight and easy to use.

The Wahl Balding Clippers - has unrivalled power, cut really, really low, but are let down by their weight and the fact they are not cordless.

PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY QUEST>>

I will use the Panny's again in the summer to sport the sly look, but for now my QUEST is to find a Clipper, that cuts as low as the Wahl Balding clippers, that has equal or more power that than Wahl, same or less weight as the Walh, but are CORDLESS!!

Please any everyone input into my tread and help me with my QUEST?

I really appreciate your help.  :@`

Having had experience with a couple of cordless clippers (Wahl and.....I think Conair) I don't believe that it's possible for a cordless clipper to have the same power as one that is corded. I'm not sure why this is because my Panasonic shaver has plenty of power to keep my head smooth between blade shaves. It's probably a question best answered by any physics experts or mechanical/electrical engineers in the crowd. It's probably the link between a clipper that converts 120v ac to 12v dc to directly run the motor as opposed to one that uses 120v ac to charge a 12v battery which in turn runs the motor. I would think that with the 120-12v operation of the corded unit you have a steady level of uninterrupted power as opposed to a 12v storage battery which begins to lose power the second you switch it on and continues to lose power throughout.

But, hey man, that's just, like, my opinion.
