On the fence about shaving the dome - came here for advice.f
« on: November 05, 2013, 10:50:14 AM »
Hello everyone! I have always struggled with a large forehead and lately as I get older - not just turning 30 - I feel that my hair is thinning. That combined with a large forehead seems to be a really poor combination. My brother shaved his head and loves it. I am just wondering what you guys think. I don't feel that bald is for everyone - I truly feel it is based on your face, head shape etc. (i could be wrong too haha) but I am just not sure if it is for me. I am definitely never getting transplants, plugs or whatever other frankenstein-esque products are out there.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome! I see a little recession, but if you are not ready yet, try a shorter buzz first. The chinstrap beard is a nice touch with a sly head or even a shorter buzz! If you don't like the shorter haircut, you can always grow it back....I think you have a nice headshape for sly, if you ever go that route! Good luck!

Thanks, guys. I just get ragged on a lot about my large forehead and/or hairline. I am no longer interested in hearing it and would just rather keep it simple. Plus, I want to wear hats without the dreaded hat-head messy hair haha.

Yeah, the dreaded hat hair, or bed hair, or convertible top down hair.. or whatever....   the freedom from that is pretty cool.
Plus, after you shave your head, if your friends rag on you, it is because of a decision you made rather than something that is happening to you beyond your control.   I think that makes it much easier to joke along with... and to not worry about.

Welcome!

From your pictures, I can imagine you sly and I think it would look good, especially with facial hair. I've always liked hats but avoided them when I had hair because once I had a hat on, I'd have to keep it on! The freedom of having a shaved head is amazing. I don't shave every day so I just get up and go. Eliminating hair from the grooming ritual saves a ton of time!

Welcome - You've got some good options laid out for you
