I'm sorry to hear that the safety razor head shave is not giving you the results you desire. As a former cartridge head shaver, I get super, smooth head shaves with my DE and SE razors (all day and every day). I hope that you do not "give up" on the DE/SE head shaves because with practice and patience; the traditional way of shaving provides superb results.

I just received my new Merkur 34C today. I haven't had the closest shave yet, but I did not cut myself! Where should I go for the sample pack of blades? The one that came with it was not terribly sharp. Tomorrow, I will use the Wilkinson Sword ones I have, but I want to try others too.
