Retired Coast Guard Chief gone bald...
« on: September 15, 2013, 10:20:39 PM »
Finally did it, got tired of the comb over... getting all the jokes and comments, but I never cared what people think, hell, as a Chief they always said I hated people anyway :->

Going thru the 'stunned' feel of my head. Thinking of using my vintage DE set, using a Headblade for now.

Wearing SPF 4 for now to see if I can get it to start blending in better.

Head is cold, I read that goes away.

Last, where can I find a list of all the acronyms I'm seeing here on the forum?

Congratulations, RamahX. Sly suits you well.

If your scalp is anything like mine was, the skin is really sensitive (almost tingling) right now to every sensation. Just a fan blowing across my head was sometimes too much. It does go away.

Welcome.

Nice welcome.

BBC bald by choice
BBN bald by nature
ATG against the grain
WTG with the grain
SBG sly bald guys.  Meaning you shave all the hair on top.

If you see some others, just ask.

Yes, the cold and tingle goes away.  Does not take lo g.  My head usually feels hot, actually.

Remember 30 day rule.

Welcome RamahX and thank you for your service. A long time friend of mine is in the USCG reserves.

Sly (AKA smooth and shiny) suits you well. The coldness will wear off, but other sensations usually don't (breeze, rain, hands, etc.) which is all good.

Hope to see you around the forum, congratulations on going smooth! :)

Welcome aboard Chief!
Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

Welcome Chief!  I first shaved the noggin when I was still on active duty in the Air Force.  Got tired of paying 15-20 bucks a week for a bad haircut on a head that was fast becoming more skin than hair.  Everyone said it made me look younger...and meaner.  A Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant, who was also shaved shiny, looked at me and said, "Finally!  As an E7 you finally decided to join the military!"  Lots of vets on the board here.  You'll fit right in.
One definition of "surrender" is, "To join the winning side."

Top stuff kind sir!

A Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant, who was also shaved shiny, looked at me and said, "Finally!  As an E7 you finally decided to join the military!"

That wouldn't be Gunnery Sergeant Hartman would it? ;)
