Fencer, you do look great with the sly look!   -Don't second-guess yourself.

Thanks guys; I DO appreciate the positive responses. It seems like I go through a cycle. I shave, and I'm really excited about the results. Then after a couple of days of shaving, I second guess my decision. I know that's what the 30 day rule is all about. I just can't seem to get over that hump! I feel like I look best with a cap on, but we all know there are places where a hat is not acceptable.

Fencer, what you need to do is stick with it for the thirty. Shave it at least every other day or so from the time you choose to start.
You'll allow your scalp to get used to shaving, and also get more comfortable with the look and feel.
Ditch the ballcap, you don't want to hide the smooth dome. If you plan on being out in the sun for a long period of time be sure to use sunscreen, then use your hat.   ;)

You're putting too much emphasis on something that's just hair at the end of the day. If you're getting excited before you do it and hung up after, you need to just bit it all into context. It's a haircut, dude. Nothing more.

You get one shot at this life, spending 3-4 years mulling over something that looks good is a waste. Just find some confidence in yourself

Fencer, I've not read the other posts to your initial post, yet. Wanted to give my fresh perspective.

I see your provide picture. I see a handsome man. Nice bald head. Good beard.  You look good. Nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about.

Maybe you just need some frequent reminders.

I find some good friends at work enjoy good natured teasing about my bald head. All know that I'm BBC.  They joke about it and I play along.  I love being bald. Think it looks sharp.  Almost envy the guy who don't have to shave much, like Doug.  Just trim up the edges.

Ah, well. I enjoy a few moments of pampering each morning as I shave my head!

Enjoy it. Hope the guys here can encourage you along the way.

Look at it this way: you say that you can't grow it out, because it looks worse?  Surely that means that you've already made your decision.  Keep it shaved and move on.

You look fine. Don't sweat it, and don't spend your life hiding under a hat.

Fencer, I'll join the chorus here.  You look great with a shaved head.  I know what you're going thru, I've been on the fence longer than you!  Right now, I'm trying the 30-day rule.  I'm in day eight and need to shave again.  I think that this time it will last.

Seriously, your shaved head goes perfectly with your mustache and what looks like a fireman's uniform.  I think that you can have a lot of women and a lot of men (whichever you're into) standing in line for you.  Be proud of your bald self.  Gee, I guess I should say that to my mirror!

Hey Fencer - from the picture, your head looks the perfect shape.  Mine looks okay from the front but when I see myself from the back in pictures, I see this oddly misshapen head - just gotta laugh at myself.  And I know no one is really spending too much time thinking about my bald head! At the end of the day, I know I'm in good company!

I guess after reading the posts again, my biggest issue is not being confident enough to go without a hat.....
I use it as a crutch way too often! I'm definitely going to work on that! Thanks again! O0

When I first shaved, I wanted to show off my new look. It took a lot of guts to go BBC, and I had a new attitude. Take off the cap, you look great!
Bald by choice, and loving it!
