I will admit..i do it occasionally.  Although I never have went bald down there...i just keep it low brush....

I shave down there as well  ;D

I actually try and remove most of my body hair, except eyebrows and legs, as well as five o clock shadow on my face, which I like. I trim down my arms. My chest and pits are usually completely hairless unless I've gotten lazy.
