Pretty new to scraping and have only been going for a solid 2 weeks now...My skin is pretty stout and I don't have any razor burn...I do however seem to be getting acne on the sides of my head though and I think I have narrowed it down to my favorite headphones (JVC HA-RX700), which are a bit oversized. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before and whether or not they have a good solution for cleaning the headphones...they have a soft "leather" like surface covering the ears...I am afraid alcohol or something like that may ruin them. I know this is kind of a shot in the dark, but figured I would give it a whirl! Hopefully I don't have to give them up

Welcome to the forum! As far as I know, I have never heard of a breakout due to headphones...but I can offer some suggestions: 1. Invest in some witch hazel to help keep your pores clean after shaving. 2. Rub your head with an ice cube after shaving. As far as cleaning the headphones, maybe a light coat of vinegar may be a better alternative. Hopefully your skin isn't allergic to the leather surface from your headphones, but you could always see a dermatologist to make sure. Good luck and participate often!

hey man...thanks for the reply.
I have a pretty good routine going..shower, exfoliate, headslick, scrape, wash with cold water, moisturize, clear razor.
I am pretty sure it is the headphones simply because I sweat in that one area where the headphones touch...so i am pretty sure it is them. The vinegar idea might actually be good.
I'm definitely not allergic, and I wouldn't consider it a "breakout"...it's just a few pimples in the area where the headphones pads sit.
Oh, and the Witch Hazel...I have some on order...so we'll see if that helps. -

I've discovered a couple of little pinkish spots from around where you wear a hat, I believe it's from the sweat and such accumulating and then kind of rubbing in. It should be temporary and clear up.
Anyone know where to get Witch Hazel (I remember my grandmother having a huge glass bottle of it in her bathroom). I checked a local CVS and there was none to be found... I wondered if it was considered "illegal" or something... -

You can try an alum block or stick to help close your pores after shaving. That might help.

Just an update on this...they seem to be going away...it may have just been irritation caused by the headphones against skin that isn't used to being bare. Been scraping for over a month now and don't seem to be having the issue anymore. Thanks for all the advice though...God...can't believe it has actually been over a month now!

Yes, might have been the sweating. I get a lot of acne because my head sweats terribly. It is much worse when I have hair, almost goes away when I shave my head.

Welcome, to the forum, kdeleon! Sounds like your noggin was just getting used to being naked. Adjustment takes time. Love the beard, btw.
Use ear buds
The only thing about ear buds, is that they tend to not sound as good as a similarly priced over-the-ear set. I'll admit that they (buds) do come in handy though, especially when exercising. -

Never heard that before always thought acne vulgaris was to hormonal /chemical in balances , had it bad as a teenager .sounds more like a dematitis , warmth and moisture notgood for skin over prolonged periods .
