I'm Bald Now

I shaved my head totally bald 16 days ago. I'm 21 and my hair had been thinning for a while. After I did it, I was afraid of reactions so I wore a beanie and just said I got a bad haircut. Well, the day after, I was forced to go to the beach with my friends, but refused to take it off. My friends keep pestering me to take it off and I finally gave in and the reactions weren't negative at all. I mean, I got called "baldy" 100000000 times and they joked around a lot because in high school I had the best hair. After a little while, it stopped and everything went back to normal. I realized I had worried too much.

I'm now starting to like the new look. Honestly, I think I looked better with my old hair, but it is what it is. I've dressed sharper than before and work out more so the new look is working for me.

Congrats, I was the same as you, people joked a lot because I was the long haired, loreal ad kind of guy at school and now I'm the only bald guy in our friend group, but not the only one who needs to shave... I've seen the jealous looks from some combover addicts.

Nice job newby08!!

Yes, it's ironic that you hear some "banter" about the issue of "going all the way" because to some it's "a big deal." For me, it is just the natural order of things... a progression to a conclusion.

I had a co-worker tell me "it wasn't as big a change as you think" (being my hair was pretty short anyway) and that "I carried it well" which was awesome to hear. I know I have had more confidence in myself and walk a little taller than I did before... :)
