Well I picked up some bump patrol and shavers secret today at the store. Haven't shaved in a few days, trying to let it heal. I just got done shaving used some new shaving gel as well this one for sensitive skin. Definitely felt like a good shave. Went to a hydro five blade as well.
Mixed a little gel and shavers secret togeather and applied with a brush. Tried going WTG but did feel like it was doing anything at all. So re lathered up and WAG. Finished with the bump patrol.
Also got some gold bond ultimate for men to try on the dry spots. Not sure if it is a good idea let me now? Also got some nivea for men post shave balm to try after getting the burn under control.
Am I trying to hard on all this? Thanks everyone for all the help
Also got a skull cap to try sleeping in, as someone suggested.

Sorry not best pic home alone with a sick kiddo. This is after the firat shave in about 4 days. The bump patrol says it can take 48hrs to work. So guessing I put it on everyday? Or just after I shave?
Was your skin irritated after you shaved? Bump patrol is meant to be applied everyday, even if you don't shave. This looks a little better than your photo the other day. Give it a couple of days and the bumps should clear up to the point where they're not so obvious. Also, you have to consider that you're just starting out, it takes a little while to find the perfect routine....Nothing wrong with experimenting, however, why don't you mix a few drops of Bump Patrol with your head slick and Shave Secret? Witch Hazel and Aloe Vera also work to heal your skin. Good Luck!
By the photo it really appears to be the same as what I had which my doctor said was basically an acne breakout. So if the methods you are trying don't help, try what I suggested with an anti bacterial wash like Phisohex in the shower after each shave, or go to your GP and tell him these suggestions
Edit: So my doctor said this. Clean the head first, clean the shaver, maybe even with the antibacterial wash.
After shaving use the antibacterial wash in the shower, pat head dry with clean towel, then no touching! or any other products at all (only a very light moisteriser only if it gets dry but then he said it will probably only get dry due to over use of the bacterial wash. Phisohex is PH neutral so that helps stop dryness)
Then he said SlySirHarry was right on the mark (well he was right on the mark with making sure head is clean etc etc all good stuff), clean bed linen
Hope all goes well, I think it will settle down as it looks better already
Hi bearmedic,
I think crowbar has some solid advice there. I'd also advise against using Gold Bond or any type of non-hypoallergenic lotion for dry spots. Thick lotion can clog your pores and further any acne issues. I don't have any experience with Bump Patrol but it gets good reviews around the site.
Pick up some cortaid, it'll help easy the itch and that will help you heal.

So I let my head rest between shavings a little more the past week. Started shaving before shift, going and working my 24hr shift and shaving the next 2 days. This is the result. Started using the bump patrol and using a different razor.
Been doing this for aboit 2 days now. Worst part is the days on shift when I get the really bad stubble. By then I'm just ready to get home to shave, then shave before bed the next day before shift.
Looks much better, stay with it.
Wow, that cleared up pretty nicely! As time goes on, your method will become better and breakouts will hardly ever happen.
I's a learning process, you have to figure out what works best for you.
