I myself had the same issue, thin hair in the middle, bald in back, looked awful except when it was clipped short... and all the time it seemed shorter and shorter clipper attachments were needed.
There's plenty of great support on the forum, dig in and enjoy! I found great info out about products, ways of shaving, ideas of what to try etc. Personally, NOTHING beats the smooth skin after a hot, wet shave. It's simply awesome. I think you'll find that is the case for yourself as well, in which case you can trade in the clippers... for a shaving kit!
