Which will give a better head shave - the atx or a double edge razor?

DE blades give me a closer and more comfortable shave than any cartridge razor.

While I love the ATX, I think I'm going to have to defer to those that have tried both the DE and the ATX.

As an pwner owner of both, I can proudly say I am happy with both. For me it's a matter of how much time I want to devote to that day's headshave. If time is limited, I use the ATX and can be done within 15 minutes. If I want to devote more time for a relaxing shave (shaving until I get the BBS feel I seek) I use the DE, because I don't recommend going fast with a DE razor as you may cut yourself.

+ 1 on what Harry said.

For me it's a time vs closeness/experience, DE provides a better shave over the Sport (I don't own an ATX) but 99% of the time I use the sport.

I spent a few months using a DE to shave and I always took my time with it to not cut myself. In my experience DE didn't produce a better shave so I've since switched back to the ATX. I enjoy having the skillets to use both as I occasionally switch it up to keep from getting bored.
