Shaving Both w/Grain & Against
« on: February 06, 2013, 10:42:54 PM »
I do both, I find that I get a more thorough headshaving that way. Are there others that do same?

Tom mate, I do WTG, ATG and XTG, I cover all bases, it gives me a super smooth as a baby's bum feel.

Does it irritate my scone?? Nope, guess that's because I have been doing this for 17 odd years, and my noggin has grow accustom to it.  O0

Mostly just ATG but with some WTG in selected areas.

I do both. I'm afraid that if I shaved only ATG I would get ingrown hairs and irritation.

I have to go ATG , never had a problem with sores , bumps, ingrown hairs. If I put to much pressure on gets abit sore.   ;)

I'm trying out shaving with the grain exclusively. I've been getting some irritation back behind my ear when shaving ATG. Also I'm switching over to shaving with a DE safety razor opposed to a multiblade cartridge to see if that clears up the problem spots behind my ears.

Mostly I only go ATG.  I go WTG at the very back of my neck, where I'm prone to irritation, and WTG/ATG/XTG at the crown where I have about 75 cowlicks and hair grows in every direction.

Has been very successful so far, quite smooth and only irritation in the one spot at the back of my neck.

I tend to shave WTG more often than ATG, though I through in some XTG when I feel like I missed spots or the craters in my noggin are making hair shadows that can only be resolved by going in a different direction.

I do shave ATG at times, but find it significantly more irritating.  So I save it for rarer occasions.  My head needs to toughen more before I can do that comfortably.
