I've lost my hair... Have you seen it?

What's up!?  Been losing my hair for a while now and decided to take the plunge.
I was a little scared: "what if my head is bumpity? what if people confuse me for that dude from American History X?"

So I did it and I think it looks alright! I have not gotten one bad remark and most people really like the look. I have some questions for the experts:

1. How do I avoid the shine after shaving? (I think I almost blinded someone)
2. Do you think facial hair would suit me? Or glasses? IDK my face feels naked.

Oh & 1 more thing. For anyone who might be afraid to do it, you should just go for it!

I walked into class and got a standing ovation from the rest of the class 
The cute russian girl was like: "I like your hair cut, no really, I do!" with a big smile on her face 

This is coming from a dude who used to turn his head depending in which way the wind was blowing to keep his donald trump comb forward in check. My self respect and confidence has gone up 1000000%

Congrats on gettin 'er done, bro. Looks great on you. Sorry I can't be much help on the shiny head issue. Mine doesn't shine too much unless my head gets oily and then a quick rinse and wipe takes care of business so I haven't really messed with some of the matte products out there. Some of the other guys may be of more assistance there. As far as facial hair, I say try it. You look awesome as is, but the naked dome does go well with some facial hair, and the only way you'll know is to try it out.

Facial hair and bald always goes well together IMO.

Headlube matte does a ok job at knocking off some of the shine.

Looks good. Facial hair wouldn't hurt but you look fine without it -- you wear the clean look well. If you don't need to wear glasses then sunnies would be the go in bright light.

Standing ovation -- what a great response. Now you're making me feel jealous. And the Russian girl -- streuth. Poor old Donald -- just shows that money can't help him with that problem.

And good to see that you now no longer feel the stress of having to correctly orient head to wind. What a pain that must have been. All finished now though -- greater freedom for you.

As mentioned, HeadLube Matte is good. Also, do a search on "matte" and you'll see lots of other possibilities.

Isn't it refreshing to be relieved of worrying about hair drama?

Regarding the shine thing, others might know, but I read something about "Milk of Magnesia" applied sparingly to the head helps control shine. Those guys that have their heads tattooed swear by it apparently!

By the way, your head looks good. Looks like you've been bald since birth and it's just you.  Great for the Russian girl's comment. We need more people like that. I get all positive comments on my hair (or lack there of). I am partial to facial hair, though, so if you can, I'd say go for the beard/mustache, or variation thereof.

I love the shine. Draws a bit more attention to the head. So I'm always looking for something to enhance the shine. HeadLube Glossy works well. They also have HeadLube Matte, which is supposed to reduce the shine. If you buy anything from HeadBlade online, they MAY include a sample .. or you might ask them to send a sample. I have some. It does not eliminate the shine, but reduces it.

Nice to see another young man embrace Sly.  Good to have you on the site. Please post frequently to encourage other young men to shave their heads.

Welcome, Richie! I'm guessing you're <30 years, so a nice goatee or chinstrap beard can only enhance the new look! As far as shine, baby powder works if you're looking for an inexpensive route; otherwise Matte For Men might be a nice investment.

You should have offered to let the Russian girl feel you smooth dome  -(maybe next time).   

I can't help with the shine question, but I see some other guys have already offered suggestions on  that. 

I  think facial hair would look good.. let the stubble grow in everywhere to see where it naturally wants to grow, and go from there.

You look great.  As fpr the shiny head, most bald guys ask me what it is I do to have it shiny because they want the same.  I think keeping it shiny is best.  Facial hair, I'v experimented with a clean shaved face, goatee, full beard and side burns and I like them all.
