Hmm, I'm not getting the significance of the Roku deal with Time Warner. You need to be a cable subscriber in either case, so what does it matter whether you use a Roku or a TW box? I guess it could potentially mean one less device in the stack, but I don't find that particularly important news.

I wasn't sure if you need to be a TW cable subscriber or if you just need to have Internet access through them.
I just bought a Roku box and love it. Not considering ditching my cable provider, but the Roku box is great for streaming from Netflix, Amazon, Hudu, and Hulu. I use my Blueray player for streaming through my main tv and got the Roku for the bedroom. Can't beat it for $50. Apple TV is $100 and doesn't support amazon streaming. I have found that Amazon has the same stuff I would get from iTunes for about 30% less.
If you have an Amazon Prime account, they provide thousands of movies/tv shows for free and have a much bigger selection of paid movies/tv shows. I subscribe to Netflix, but use Hudu and Amazon pretty often too.

Streaming is great. I stream from Amazon and Netflix through a GoogleTV, an AppleTV and a PS3.
I am looking into trying to get a mobile hotspot...
On that will allow fast enough connection to stream Netflix.
I have a ps3 hooked up to each of my TVs
I have two that are watched in my house.
Living room and bedroom.
However I don't know enough about mobile hotspots.

My wife and I are also looking into getting rid of our Uverse programming and just going to use our PS3 and buy a couple Roku devices for the other TVs. Right now we already stream a ton of stuff from Netflix and
Amazon Prime. My father-in-law that lives with us only watches NBA basketball, and for $130/yr I can get him a subscription to ALL games for 5 of his favorite teams.
Interesting tangent -
Roku occupies the exact office space that my wife and I met in when we worked at the same company.
