Waxing before Tweezing

First of all, I did do a search to read other posts about tweezing and waxing. I know it is painful and I know there is youtube videos out there showing guys screaming like little girls while gettting waxed and I know that officially Veet says that it is not for the scalp.

What I have not found was any success stories. One or two stories saying they wouldn't recommend waxing but I still feel the topic is inconclusive.

I want a shadow free look. I've even tweezed the little island of hair I have on my forehead. Painful-yes, but at the same time exciting. Kind of like popping a big zit. It hits like hell but there is a satisfaction of getting all that nasty puss out.

My plan is to slowly tweeze the top of my head, a little at a time. If I'm going to experiment, I'm going to experiment safe. So if it works, I will look like I have a MPB shadow. I of course will have to shave the rest of my head. After tweezing the top of my head for a while (maybe months) and I like it, I will move on to the rest of the head.

But I had a thought. I know tweezing and waxing are painful. But having the feeling of a few hairs getting pulled out at a time sounds more painful then a big strip pulling a bunch out within a second.

So, now here is the question: Has anybody waxed there head instead of doing a whole head tweeze and them maintained after that with tweezers?

I now head waxers are out there. If you don't think so, go to scalptweezing.com. Pain doesn't bother me, it is the result I am looking for.

I personally have never considered either, although it is an interesting concept, something that I don't think is for me though, while I wince at the thought of it, the effort and dedication required sounds too much for me.

But feel free to keep us informed on your experiment, it certainly sounds interesting, even if it isn't for most people

Simpson1190, I have done the epilator tweezer thing and it does help with the smoothness & the hair that does eventually grow back is a lot lighter & sparser.
I had been thinking about doing the head waxing thing for a while but was kind of put off by the intense pain that people seemed to be implying...... well, this weekend I finally got up the b***s to go through with the decision to have my head fully waxed & I must admit although being intensely painful for a short time, the whole smoothness of the scalp is well worth the pain. I will continue to post as to what difference it makes to my regular routine & how long my head remains smooth for.

I've thought about waxing or using Nair but I'm not sure I've gut the b***s to do it. I'm definitely interested in hearing about your results.

Do not put Nair or other caustic chemicals on your scalp! Might as well use battery acid.

Waxing and tweezing are one thing (ouch!), but chemicals are something completely different.

Thanks, keep me posted. I think I am going to tweeze tomorrow. I think when waxing is the most painful is when you do a whole head of hair. After a few tweezes, I can imagine there would be less hair on the head for the wax to rip out.

Don't use Nair - it burns the scalp. Tweezing & waxing is a lot better & safer.

Sorry but I don't even entertain the idea of twessing, waxing.  To me shaving is a nice experience and I enjoy it.
