Thanks for all the responses guys, you're a friendly bunch here. I see the majority are going with shaving it. Am really getting into the idea of going totally sly bald
But like you've recommended am gonna work up (or down) to that. Think once its a bit warmer, and I get into better shape (bit of a fat lad right now) it will suit me better, and then I'm gonna go for it.

Crowie, welcome ... first off.
Second, I would encourage you to shave it off - which I tell just about anyone who asks (they wouldn't be asking if it wasn't becoming an issue for them). But the reason I recommend shaving is not to have another baldy among us, it's because of the incredible feeling of liberation that comes with it. Imagine ... NO MORE HAIR WORRIES.
And your thought of "getting in shape" before dealing with hair - that's purely procrastination. I've seen it before, and used it myself. However, once I shaved my head I found improved fitness came to me without the usual angst. Others have found similar image enhancements once they shaved.
I personally recommend you get on with the task.
