deets87--at a NW5 and developing responsible medical practioners should be advising you about the actual potential for restoring growth, and it is small at that level.  It's time to take a deep breath, accept the genetics you've been dealt and embrace them.  You won't find any medical contraindications with shaving, you won't find expenses paid by insurance for doctors and medication--it's not a covered condition under any insurance policy I've ever heard of--, and as Ben32 said, whatever growth you have and the money you've spent are gone when you stop, gone.  Put the money in the bank and invest in yourself.  The doctors make money selling you this stuff--so they aren't uninterested parties and their interest is in their wallets, not your head.  Accept, keep smooth, move on with life.  Look around, you're part of a large group of men, and some women, who face life sly & happy. Why change that?

Totally agree .  I would say like all of us we have to make up our mind in what we want to do and what is needed.  If I were you I would rather spend the bucks on nice Shaving Item's instead of propecia stuff.   ;)

At the end of the day... it's just hair. It's a vaguely cosmetic keratin deposit, it's not worth taking any risks with your health for, so don't.

I don't know which is the most boggling: (1) risking your health with drugs, (2) scarring and mutilating your head with transplants.

I mean really? Is any of that worth it?

Good for you Mark!  ^-^

BTW guys, the OP has left the building.  He was here for one day.  We didn't tell him what he wanted to hear.  I guess he'll get his Propecia prescription and then get butchered with a hair transplant unless he comes to his senses before then.

Too bad.  He should listen to his Sly Brothers.

maybe propecia is secretly to stop people who don't have the balls to shave their heads from breeding?

Hold up everyone, no need for name calling or abuse. I've been otherwise distracted, so haven't had time to check the forum again. Anyway, I've decided that there is little point in propecia -- I don't think it causes sides (the scientific literature doesn't say so), but it's not gonna do much at this stage. Might as well focus on other things and get on with my life.

That's me with the shaved head in the pic -- was taken last year, have lost a bit of weight since then unfortunately due to ACL surgery and rehab. Getting back on track!

Good to hear from you again!  No name calling or abuse from me.  But you do look good with a shaved head.  Plus it is less expensive than Propecia!
