The journey begins! ATX Style

Clipped down to the bone. Going to use the Panasonic elec to get as low as possible. Once there will decide if I will leave as is until next weekend or use the head blade atx.
Kinda nervous about the atx from some of the posts about slicing the dome. I've read the posts about the headblade and watched the videos but still a bit skeptical.

Looks great. You have a good head for it and also the facial hair looks good.

You look comfortable with the "new dude in the mirror!" Now, 30 days. Regarding the tool, if you're concerned about nicks, try a conventional stick razor, particularly if that's what you have used for your face. I started with a Fusion system, moving through the M5, and now happily use the Schick Hydro 5. It's really like painting in so many respects--particularly preparation. If you properly prepare for the shave, nice hot shower, shampooing the stubble to soften it, etc., then take your time---nicks should be at a minimum. It's not a race, enjoy the "zen" of the shave.

Finally, shaved the dome last night. I was a bit intimidated by the ATX, mainly because I didn't want to cut the scalp as many have reported.
I took a nice, hot shower then applied the Headslick. Started the process and must say it went rather smoothly. It will take a few tries to get used to the handling of the ATX (which way to hold it). Overall, very satisfied with the product and the HB4 blades. Had a little difficulty with the back but it will get better with use.
No nicks or scratches=no blood. So that's a good thing.
The key really is not to use any pressure and to let the ATX glide over the dome.
The Headslick seemed to work fine. Only problem is I find it dried somewhat on my head. Probably due to the time it took to finish the shave. I took my time and it probalby took approx 10 min. I should be able to cut that in half and then hopefully down to 3 min.

Nothing to fear! The atx is my first head blade as well,I love it. What blade cartridge are you using? I started with the 6 blade, its like rolling butter over your head man,no cuts,no pressure needed.

I'm using the HB4 blades. So far I like the ATX, just need to get used to using it.

I've only nicked myself a few times with the ATX, no severe cuts like I've had with the sport though.
I'm more of a thorough shaver than a speed shaver. Some day I'll pay attention to how long it takes to shave.

Nice job
.
Getting used to it will happen more quickly than you would think at this point. For a lot of guys it's "Whose the new dude in the mirror?" until a day you catch a reflection and realize, "Damn that looks good!"
It will happen sooner than you think--trust us on that like you trusted going Sly.
