HELP, Sugestions please
« on: October 02, 2012, 07:33:07 PM »
Well the other day i got on to see what to do for bumps. I thought i found the cure for it. I read a thread about bump patrol. I used it for two days cleared up bumps right away was amazed. This morning i shower, shave get done dry off apply the bump patrol. I could tell something was up by the time i left for work major bumps back like it was. It seems that as the day has gone on it has got worse. NOW WHAT?? This really sucks and i am getting to the point i don't enjoy being sly. I have never had this issue before just started about 5 or 6 months ago and is getting worse. I have been shaving since 2008 i think, so I'm not new at this.

ANY HELP AT ALL WOULD  BE GREAT

Shaving routine
Apricot scrub
Headslick
Mach 3
Rinse with cold water
New add bump patrol

Hi Bowhunter:  After you perform a cold water rinse, dry dome, perform ice cube rub until it melts, dry dome,  apply refrigerated witch hazel, let air dry, than apply Hydrocortizone 10 Lotion.  You can get the Hydrocorisone 10 Lotion at your local Walgreens.  Get the lotion not the cream.  The lotion works faster.

Also... you might want to decrease your time with the apricot scrub.  Just use it about 2 or 3 times a week instead of daily.  Hope this helps and keep us posted.

I'll echo what Warhawk said about the Apricot Scrub and hydrocortisone cream/lotion. Exfoliating scrubs aren't meant to be used every day, and that's probably attributing to the current irritation. Dropping the scrub back to every other day should help tremendously.

In the meantime, hyrdrocortisone will be a life saver. I occasionally get irritation on the back of my neck and a good 1% HC usually clears it right up.

Good luck!

You've been given some good advice. I would eliminate the scrub all together for the time being to see if the bumps diminish.

Hey there Bow Hunter

I agree, exfoliating every day is not good for the skin.  I have done a bit of research and discovered that once to three times a week, maximum is sufficient.  The whole “Everything in moderation” saying definitely applies to exfoliating.

Good luck and I hope you beat the bump battle.

I keep my head shaving very simple .   Wash face and head , put on my soap with a brush and shave .  Take a shower and ready to go .   ? What are these bumps made of?  Just asking ::)

Thanks guys!

I will drop the scrub. I plan to get some witch hazel & HC lotion. I have never heard of the ice cube rub before I will give it a shot. Thanks again I will keep you posted.

The ice cube rub is awesome.  Just rub it on dome and face until it melts.  It wakes you up and the coolness closes your pores and helps eliminate razor burn and razor bumps.  Keep us posted.  Do not forget to place the witch hazel in the fridge.

If all else fails, Bump Patrol has a Maximum formula.
I used BP every time after these guys told me about it for the whole first 30 days, and then some.
Worked wonders for me also. When I found the Max formula on Amazon for less than I was buying the Reg locally, I bought that.
You can definitely tell the Max is different by feel and how it spreads on the head.
Since I didn't NEED the Max but got it, I just use about a quarter of it now when I do use it.
Let us know how it goes.

My advice don't shave everyday. Shave every other day, that will help cut down on the irritation.

I agree with this.  If there is a need to shave each day then continue but I have never had a problem with bumps but I shave every other day.

Glad to hear that you are speed bump free.
