Proraso Shave Soap Review

• I recently purchased Proraso shave soap and have finally had the chance to use it a few times.
  Here's a quick review:
  
  The product is labeled "Proraso con olio di eucalipto e mentolo". Roughly translated that means "Proraso with eucalyptus and menthol".
  
  This is a quality product that makes an EXCELLENT lather. It lathers very quickly with my badger hair brush. This is one of the BEST lathers that I have used. I have gotten EXCELLENT shaves with the Proraso.
  
  Now about the scent. One of the reasons that I love good qualty shave soaps is that they have great scents. When I opened the Proraso I was a little disappointed with the scent. It smells a little "soapy" and a little "earthy". Not the overwhelming great scent of a Cella or a RazoRock.
  Once I lathered it the scent remained pretty much the same but very slightly stronger. The scent is not obnoxious or a scent that should keep you from trying it but it is definetly not the pleasant scent of other soaps that I have used.
  
  Now the great thing about the Proraso (besides the excellent shaves)...... when you spread the Proraso on your face let it sit for a minute or two before you start shaving. The "cooling" effect is OUTSTANDING! This stuff invigorates your face with the cooling of the eucalyptus. Even after you finish your shave the cooling stays with you for a few minutes. I can't say evough about how nice this is.
  
  So..... I really like the product except that the scent isn't one of my favorites. All of the other GOOD things that this product brings to the shave FAR outweigh any shortcomings.
  
  Proraso gets a big thumbs up from me. I'll give it a 9 out of 10... only the scent kept it from getting a 10 from me.

  I totally agree there is a reason that Proraso is a wet shaving classic.... Because its pretty awesome stuff!

• Thanks for the review Mike.  I've tried the old formulation Proraso and really enjoyed it in the warmer months, but I haven't tried the new one, and don't have much space left for any more soaps at the moment.  Need to finish off some of the soaps I have already!
