• I've been lurking here since July and finally decided to join and post to the forum.
  
  I've gone back and forth using clippers w/ no guard vs. sly for about 11 years now (did it the week before 9/11) and after reading about the 30 day rule here I decided to take the plunge again and go totally sly.  I'm always surprised at how pale my skin is (even using clippers) once I do shave my head with a razor but now I've learned my lesson to be patient.
  
  Even living here in Miami I need to give my head some time to get some sun, but not too much.
  
  As for going bald, ever since I noticed I was losing my hair i didn't fight it as it turned out to be a blessing as I think I'd look like a 12 year-old with a full head of hair. 
  
  I think this website (especially the forums) kick a$$ and I'm looking forward to posting to the forums!

• Welcome!  Glad you decided to join.  Be careful trying to get sun on your pale scalp.  Better to take your time rather than get a sunburn and have a peeling dome!

  I went to clippers in the past since I got tired of the nicks and cuts from one of the old style Headblades.
  
  I started using Gillette Fusion razors on my face recently and liked the smooth shave so much I decided to try it on my head.
  
  Now I consider myself re-converted.
