I really wanna try a slant too. Too many razors, too little time!
Also how's that sandalwood soap from TOBS? I've got my eye on that brand/smell in particular.

Hi Gents: Hope all is well with you & your families. As most of you know. . . I have a few SE razors that I have that I have not used yet other than the CC (Classic Cobra). The CC is an excellent razor. I am happy to report that I have finally placed my 1940s-50s Gem G-Bar on its maiden voyage. I had an incredible face (sink) and dome (shower) with this classic vintage SE razor.
It was a very relaxing & fun SE shave. I can already tell that I am looking forward to future shaves with this classic beauty. There is something nostalgic when you shave with anything vintage. Enclosed is a pic of my Gem G Bar SOTD. Special thanks to Bluebriz (Brian) for giving me that push to show some attention to my vintage SE razors.

@warhawk It's about time you tried out an SE! ;0). They're amazing razors, I have about 4 or 5 different models I think. They vary in their aggressiveness just like DEs, but they're beautifully made and built to last. I've been on a Progress run for a few days, but might have to get an SE ready for tomorrow...

Awesome shave today! Closest one yet using my new shaving cream/after shave that I got in the mail this morning. Face is BBS after ONE PASS (minus one tiny area I was too lazy to touch up that is always a problem). Dome is like 90% BBS but that's mostly due to the fact that I'm still learning to dome shave with the DE.
The following applies to face and head shaves
Razor:
Merkur 23C
Blade (not pictured):
Shark (chrome)
Brush (can't see it but it's deep in the scuttle covered with extra lather):
Some kind of pure badger brush not entirely sure where it's from
Pre:
Exfoliating soap & Lucky Tiger Face wash in shower
Shave Secret oil
Cream:
TOBS Jermyn Street Collection, warmed up in the scuttle before shaving
Post:
Cold water followed by
Proraso Aftershave Lotion (was not very lotion like- more like traditional aftershave)
Nivea For Men aftershave balm
Pictured in the back is my awesome new XL shaving scuttle!

@ smoothsailing: Congrats on a great safety razor shave. There is nothing better than the traditional way of shaving. I love the pic. TOBS is a great performing shaving cream. I look forward to your future SOTD pics.

How does one create lather with soap in the shower? I've wondered thos for some time since canned gel is easy but soap is different

If I'm lathering in the shower I'll soak the brush in a bowl while washing face, body, and head, then I'll switch off the water for the lathering and shave, just using a little water to rinse razor.

Do you just set the bowl on the side of the tub? I see myself having to create some kind of hanging platform for my shower hahah. The ground is not flat enough and the tub wall is narrow for my XL scuttle ><
