The sly look looks good on you, as others have said give it some time. Big changes in looks take a couple of days to get used to. It will be fine!!

Hey Jon,
Have just noticed your post and it is an interesting one. I'm 21, noticed my hair was going thinner when i was around 18 but ignored it, to the point where it had thinned a lot and i looked like a right idiot, (and a lot older for that matter). I found this site rather randomly, and then ended up, around 3 days after finding it getting the courage to post, within the same night i had "bic'd" my head as its known in the UK, shaved it all off.
It is definately better now, apart from the initial joking from friends, it looks a hell of a lot better, and the compliments have prooved it. I know its hard to lose it at a young age, but it defiantely looks good and it seems to suit you 110%, although not sure what it looked like before. Definately a Sly Guy Jon, and this website is great, as are the sound guys (an lass's) on it. Apologies for my use of language, im British so it may sound a bit odd, but honestly, you do look kewl with the new shaved dome.
By the sound of it, you have had the same funky feeling on your head as i did when i shaved mine, especially when going running it feels weird yet good with the wind through it, only downside is England is a damn site colder than it is for you guys over the Atlantic in the States.
Well done for taking the step, and if nothing else proves you've got a pair! (not sure if you use that expression in the US).

Thanks. Don't worry about sounding odd. Most of my friends are from Japan they say some really odd things. I'm always helping them with English. I guess its why I decided to become an English teacher in Japan.

That's awesome! Where are you teaching in Japan?
I spent some time in Kitsuki on the island of Kyushu. One of the best trips ever!

I'm only studying to teach there. I start school in September but Ive self taught myself a lot of Japanese. Its been tough but I'm finally starting to understand songs. Which people all ready think I am strange for. I was the only person at school who listens to Japanese music.

Jon, I actually envy you because you've got the bouncer look going that so many people like. I can't even picture you with hair.

Cool! I think you'll love the experience over there when you do teach. I went over to visit my buddy that was teaching in Kitsuki and he loved it.

Hey Jon,
Welcome to the group. I can relate to how you were feeling at first. Stick around awhile. You will find the look really grows on you. So will this group of guys and gals. You are doing the right thing by working out and taking care of yourself. Also, adding a little facial hair can really change your look. I think you will find that you will get a huge boost of confidence from the whole experience. As your confidence grows, you will stop worrying about what others think and others will start seeing the real you. Best of luck, see ya around the forum.

jon, I hope this post finds you feeling better about shaving your head. It looks great! If you are getting some rude remarks about this, don't worry. Those remarks will stop. Some people will do this to justify their own appearance because they are actually insecure. They need to "blend in."
How many times have you heard someone say that they would "do this" or "do that" if it became "popular?" Meaning they are willing to do it when they can easily "blend in" . . . always easy to stand on the shoulders of giants.
The girl that told you that you looked good . . . trust me, she was telling you the truth. The fact that you decided to shave your head took confidence. hang on to that, because that look shouts CONFIDENCE.

Jon,
I'm glad that you like your new sly look. Again, it really does suit you. As for comments, let them roll off of you like water off a duck. I still sometimes get some negative comments. But that is not too common now. Also you said that you are trying to lose weight, check out our weight loss challenge on this site. I am hoping to be sly and in shape and support here along with other things help. So check that out. Also check out the HeadBlade and other head shaving products. That will help make the task eaiser. Again, welcome and keep it shining!

Yo Jon, like others have said you look good sly and since we've never seen you with hair we cant imagine you with it. It would be weird
And since you're about to start college everyone you will meet from now on will think the same, that you're sly and look good that way.
That being said, I've done some google searches on teaching english in japan! How long are you going to school for? and where, etc? details!@
