I'm 18 years old. I have been loosing my hair since I was 17. Soon I will be starting college and being on my own. Last night I got so fed up with it. All the worrying and checking how much I've lost. Finding it in the drain of the shower. I just got so fed up and shaved it all off. I don't like it or don't hate it but the more negative things I hear about it just make me want to hide from the world. One of my friends told me to wear a wig. I guess its really bad looking or I am. Here is a pic of me

Man, don't know what you''re talking about jon, you've got a great shaped head and wear the sly look very well. A great many guys have had reactions to the first time but if you give it a chance I can tell you that being sly becomes addictive and is very enpowering. Hang around here for a while, read other threads and get input from the rest of the gang. I am sure it will be positive as well. And oh yeah, welcome to the group

Hi Jon, welcome to SBG's. You've come to the right place. You wear the sly look well, of course it takes some adjusting to the change, but keep it up.
Lots of good posts on this website.....and many of us have dealt with the same feelings you are having. Please stick around here, feel free to ask advice and share your feelings about making this change.
Glad you found us.

My first reaction was "Man, did I do the right thing?" From what I've read, several others felt the same way about themselves. Stick with it, let it sink in, and you'll find it's a good look. You do have a good shaped dome.
Hang in there.

Welcome Jon. I'm with most of the others...I don't know what you are seeing that we're not but the sly look fits you just fine bro. Don't listen to those "friends" of yours that are giving you negative feedback. Are they really your friends if they are treating you like that? Just give it about a month and I'll guarantee you it will grow on you. It looks good though man, seriously. Take care and stick around for some positive support.

jon...stick with it for atleast 30 days.... also shave everyday if you can....the 30 day period will really let you test out the new look....i think it looks good sly and you will have a new persona and less stress, use this transition as a time to get in shape and sport your new look with confidence.....do not let your friends change your life with a few insensitive wisecracks.....do what is best for you and you will be happier in the long run.....welcome to SBG's ...

thanks for the support. sorry for the late reply but its getting dark and I had not gone for a walk or jog yet. I used it to get some things off my head(no pun intended). Is it weird for your head to feel tingly when you jog? maybe its the sweat and breeze going into the nicks but it kinda felt refreshing.

Jon, you rock the sly look! Keep up with the walking and jogging as it can also be a confidence booster. Head into college with confidence and you'll be the man.

That my friend is the numb feeling of a newly shaved head. It last about 2 days. I miss that feeling.

It's normal to have some mixed emotions about it in the beginning. Just resist the temptation to grow it back. I made that mistake a few times and all it did was delay the inevitable. You look fine and have absolutely no reason to be depressed. Give it the recommended 30 days and I'm sure you'll be feeling much differently about it.
Welcome to the group.

You are too young to know this and I know it is hard. I did not have to deal with hair loss at your [age but I had other life changing issues. You are young with your life ahead of you. Hair means so little really the guys here can help/color]
