If you start now it'll be routine ans no problem. If you start shaving in the winter it would take some adjustment getting use to it.

Shaving one's head in winter is a definite sign of mental illness. That's why I do it! :/O

That being said I personally don't believe that it is odd to shave one's head or grow one's hair down to one's a$$ if that is a person's preference. But there are always those folks who will render negative commentary no matter what you do. What I think is really wierd is paying even one bit of attention to anything they say. And that goes double in winter!

Hi,

I wear a beanie when it's cold in the winter, so it doesn't really matter if I'm bald or have hair.

In fact - there is an advantadge beeing bald:
No messed up hair. ;-)

I shave in the winter.  I wear hats when it's cold outside, but I still shave.  Not weird at all.

Here in South Africa, we are in the middle of a cold winter.  I went sly 42 days ago.  Shaving bald was not a seasonal decision; it was a "lifestyle" choice.  But yes, some people did ask, "Why did you shave in the winter?"  My response -- as per above.

Also, I certainly do feel the cold more, especially when I go outside for a cigarette at night.  But then I put one of my beanies on and it is all good.

Another disadvantage of shaving in winter is that you stand the risk of having a white head for a longer period than if you shaved in the summer.  But I spend time in the weak sunshine and it is browning slowly, but surely.

Take the step Dude, and take the ups and downs with the step.

Do it for you, Dude. Not "them".

I shave my head year round, and we deal with some sick winters in the northern part of the US (wind chills in the negatives at times). Doesn't stop me from being who I want to be (a baldy). -On that note, I used to have problems with beanies sliding up my head when freshly shaved. Finally found one that stays put, though.  8)

I don't see how anything about shaving bald can be weird anymore. Almost anything goes these days.

I only suspended shaving for the winter last year but it was such a mild winter I realized that I could have kept it up. When it was 60 degrees on New years I decided to resume head shaving and haven't looked back since. I've decided that weather be damned I'm just going to head shave year round.

When I started shaving last year, people told me I'd regret it when winter came.  Well, last winter was one of the mildest on record, so the cold was no problem.  At this point, I'm so accustomed to a bald head that I don't care about the weather anymore.
