Bald or shaved?
« on: May 13, 2012, 05:33:42 AM »
A friend questioned, are you BALD or SHAVED? You have hair, you're not bald, just shaved.  Maybe he was just technically being picky? What do you think?

Would "bald" and "shaved" be synonymous? Singing "Too much time on my hands" as I type this...

For me they can be the same, but also can be different. For me bald is shaved completely clean while shave can be completely clean, but also buzzed with no guard or just a number 2. I am right now buzzed with no guard and consider myself shaved, but not bald (for now)

So your response is that if one shaves all your hair off, you ARE bald, despite the tiny bit of stubble that will return in a few hours.  Vs, buzzed which would be shaved, but not bald.

Thus a by Bald By Choice (who shaves his head) really is bald.

Bald is not just a term for a fellow whose hair has fallen out and no longer grows whether he wants to or not.

(My original question came from a fellow who way picking points and trying to say that because I shave my head all the way down daily, I'm only shaved, not bald.  Looking to see what you guys thing).

Guess my family considers me BALD!  Even though I have to shave daily to look that way.

You shave your head bald.
