I waited until a good long time and did extensive research before getting my first tattoo.
I didnt want to be one of these guys my age who has a tribal sun on the shoulder, with a tribal armband underneath it and a Kanji symbol for "Strength" underneath that.

That is so true.
What about the "Barbed Wire" armband... now that just screams "Please think I am tough, I need the ego boost."
Thats why I got a lower back tattoo that says "Baby Doll" in script. >:D

What about the "Barbed Wire" armband... now that just screams "Please think I am tough, I need the ego boost."

Well, that's one of the risks of getting a tattoo, isn't it -- that it might someday look dated or out of style? Can you imagine how we'd all look and feel now if all that polyester and those bell bottoms that looked so cool back in the 70s were unremovable and we were still stuck wearing them today? ::)
