Why pretend to have MPB? :/O
If you want to shave your head, just do it. Trying to justify it to others is just a waste of time and energy.
Just say no to rugs!

I wouldn't go to such lengths to avoid a question about why I shave my head.  I'm BBC and when asked, I tell people I like it.  Tweezing your temples seems like you are trying to fool yourself as well as others.  Are you happy with being bald?

Why not tell them "because I like it" ? 😄

That would be the easiest and most honest answer - but people are usually not satisfied with easy answers. "Too simple to be true".

Also a lot of people can't understand why someone would want to be bald in the first place.  Many can't understand why someone would get rid of something that many want to keep.  I say that people's opinions really don't matter if it is just about your looks.  What really matters is what kind of person you are.  Do you have integrity?  Do you treat people well.  Those are the opinions that truly matter!  Not whether your head has hair or not!

Hi there,

one more thing from a mostly bbc-guy. :-)

There have been a few postings (one of them from me) about negative reactions from the family and how to deal with them.
I can understand the origin of your idea - to seem to be balding and to have a reason for it, so the family would shut up.
But I don't think it is worth it.
From the comments of my post i concluded the following:
- continuity: keep the head shaved at all times, so the family has the chance to get used to it - don't grow it out for family occasions
- be firm, put your foot down: it is your choice of hairstyle and nobody elses business. Not everybody hast to like or love it, but they should respect your choice ... maybe with time, so be patient.

Reagards from a baldaholic ;-)

Auch, it might be a silly idea, but  - in case nothing else works -, you can say than girls just love it and you fear that your female acquaintances would kill you if you dared to grow out your hair again.

oh there are guys who really like the MBP look.  it is unique to males and there is a segment of the population that finds it extremely attractive.  I actually have two customers who have come in it had me shave out their MPB even though they still have a full hairline.  they keep it shaved they still coming to the barbershop to have the fringe hair cut

also there are guys who are MBP nature but the MBP line isn’t it nice. It may be irregular or there may still be  some patches left.  by tweezing out the MBP section you can create a really nice perfect balding line.  because otherwise even if you shave your head your shadow would not be nice.

are used in epilator a couple of times in other parts of my head that are balding already, (my crown is almost fully bald) it really did keep the regrowth away for weeks at a time
