Also did you guys have issues with grey hairs? They are all over the sides of the head.

Yup--that goes with the blade too, and extra at no addition in price!

I would agree with the others and shave it on down.
I wouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks. It's your head and you have to wear it everday no one else does.
Remember you really should give it 30 days and if you if you really don't like it just grow it back.

Tom, as Bill Clinton might say, I am feeling your pain. Your hairline is not too bad right now and you probably could let it grow longer for a while and get away with it. But you know the rate of hair loss is pretty severe and that you will have to do something eventually and relatively soon.
Living with your parents and their covering your expenses makes things more difficult. Here is a compromise, start getting closer and closer buzz cuts. In fact, a buzz cut with your hairline looks pretty good, imho. Then, shave it all off sometime in the next year or so and it then won't seem so drastic either to you or to your mom.
Having said that, if you really want to shave it now, go for it. As many have said, it's only hair and it'll grow back.

I was thinking about cutting my hair down to a stubble (like 1 or 2 guard) to see how it looked. My hairline does go back farther since my hair in the front right now is hanging over it so I was not sure if the really short hair would make me look worse as in revealing a hairline even farther back. I also was wondering how long it took your scalp to get to the proper tan with your face. I know I would look odd for a little bit since my skin under the hair is pale white.
I have noticed alot of guys with really short hair. I work out religiously and definetly think having really short hair would go well with my physique and athletic nature. I also hate the grey hairs! Everyday I look for grey hairs and every month that goes by I find more and more.

How long it will take to have your scalp and face match depends on how much sun you get on a daily basis. If you work in an office, assume it will take longer than if you work outdoors. Also, this time of year will make it take longer.
If you are worried about gray hair, then by all means, shave your head. No one will see your gray hairs then!

A buzz looks great with an athletic body. Buy a clippers with a bunch of guards and run it over your head with a 1/4 inch guard or 1/8 inch and enjoy the buzz look for a while. The parents will get used to it without all the hassle of a sudden headshave, which to parents is a big deal since they grew up in an era where a bald head was socially negative. These days the super close buzz or shaved head is in fashion most everywhere.

Sounds as if physically you're ready for sly but not there mentally yet. Go out, buy the clippers and buzz it down ! If your hairline actually recedes under an overhang of surrounding hair you're getting dangerously close to a comb-over. From what I've seen in your pictures buzz or bald will both look good on you. Additionally, since you're a gym guy, you'll LOVE the lack of concern over keeping things in place etc.
If the job hunt becomes an issue in your decision, look around on here and find some recent threads about that subject. Per the professionals in the employment field - sly is NOT a drawback in a job hunt.
Why are you wasting your time reading this, you're supposed to be out getting your head buzzed!

Why not try all different styles and see what you like best...
Starting and ending with going SLY of course.

My hair has been an issue for me for a while now. I personally have days where I find my hair looks ok and then days where it looks bad in terms of the hairline. I think its mainly due to the lighting in the room etc.
I think I am going to do a very short buzz cut this week and see how it looks, then I will decide if I want to go to bald or not.

I am going through the same process except I'm 24. I started shaving my head with no guard for the past month and then today I just shaved my head.
So far I dont really like it much and prefer the stuble look of a no guard buzz.
