Pancakes are like bread around here. Peanut butter & jam, meat and cheese, beans, those are all normal toppings for pancakes at the farmstead. BBQ sauce on everything from lunchmeat sandwiches to cooked fish and twinkies.
AWhat planet did you say you were on?!?   ;)

The idea was the fur, but with people in South Louisiana, if anything slows down enough to get some sauce on it--it's supper!

Speaking of, the tailgate special at LSU last weekend for the game with Florida was gator, grilled, spit roasted, sauce piquante, etc., and many of the participants had the entree's head prominently displayed for the visiting fans and team. ;D ;D ;D

Again SBG's leads the cultural world.  We've been discussing this topic for some time and guess what, now there's an article on MSNBC!

We are just so far ahead of the crowd, style and sly wise and our consideration of interesting topics.  We're the leaders.

Ever have real Dutch pancakes (pankoeken)?  They are about 18 inches in diameter and very thin like a crepe.  You can get them with different kinds of topping from fruits to meats like ham.  And you eat them for lunch or dinner, but not breakfast!

One thing I could never understand is paying a lot of money for all these exotic foods when they taste like chicken. I'll just have the chicken, please.

I found that the US sells China >130,000 tons of chicken feet annually. In every market in the PRC you'll see chicken feet raw, in a sauce and fried...thousands of them. It unbelievable how much they love them. I know they are eaten as snacks in some American countries, but not like they do in China.

I can imagine eating chicken feet in the same way as I can imagine eating beaver. Ie, no chance, ever. Period.

Eww.

I would never do it myself, but I can kind of (but only kind of) understanding people eating chicken feet, because chicken is a fairly common food, so if a person can eat the breast, I guess they can eat the feet (eww)

But I dont get the whole thing about eating beaver. I realize LA isnt the wealthiest state in the US, but even for the most financially deprived, I'd have thought Hamburger Helper would be preferable to eating beaver. EWW x 500.
