Another tweezed one
« on: August 01, 2011, 03:01:59 PM »
I had been registered here for one day when I received a pm saying: "... dont tell me you tweezed it all out. sounds painful. ..."

Yes, I did.  :)  But as I'm half-bald by nature, it was only the fringe that had to be worked on. No big deal.
Surprisingly, it wasn't painful. But I admit that I had some beers while I was busy.  ;D

Welcome to SBG!
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Welcome aboard! I've always been curious about tweezing.
Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

Let's hear more  - - -How long did it take?  Are you hurting ?   Do you like it ? How long do you think it will last?

I have thought about it  - -I have some fuzz on top and fringe  ( I am a Norton 6 ) so there is not much to tweeze

First, thanks for the welcome's. :)

@ marty22
I used a Braun Silk-épil, but it doesn't seize every single hair. Or some of my hair is like cemented in,  I don't know. :)  Anyway, I kept 1 or 2% of my fringe. That's too much. Next time I'll try a Philips Satinelle.

@ Daven
I don't know exactly yet, but definitely longer than a razor shave. Three days after tweezing, I have 0.1 mm stubbles today, which is quite o.k., isn't it? And what's better, 2/3 of the hair seems to be gone. At least there's no re-growth up to now.

@ mangosink12572
There's not that much more to tell. I'm a Norton 6, too, and as you said about yourself, there's not much to tweeze.

I had been shaving off the fringe for a couple of years, using a Gilette Fusion and shaving oil. The result was absolutely perfect, day after day, but a week or two ago I thought that being bald without a shadow would be better. So I decided to tweeze and did so last Saturday. It took me several hours, mainly because of the breaks I took, and the beers I had in between.  ;D The result is more than satisfactory, despite those cemented in hairs.

I'm not hurting, not at all, no redness, no rash, no nothing. And YES, I LIKE IT ! :) It's not yet as smooth as after a razor shave, but it looks very bald.  O0

As you've thought about tweezing, do it.

@ |Doug|
If you've always been curious about tweezing, you might want to give it a try, too. Not least because it's still rather uncommon.

I'm ready to try this....although if you don't like the results I suppose it's too bad. But this is something I know I want so, along with others, what's the procedure, the technique, the tools? Do you have to let your baldness regress to forestation? How long does the strand have to be? After care? You've got a fascinated audience, information, please!!

@ Blitzed

If you still have a full head of hair, I'm afraid you won't succeed in tweezing it within one or two days. But in order to begin, you could try some tweezing on the top of your head. After a few times, it will probably look like natural hairloss or the beginning of mpb.  :) If you don't like the result, shave as usual and don't worry. I have regrowth, and you'll have it, too.

I would discourage you from using a Braun application and recommend you to choose a Philips Satinelle.
Philips says that epilation is easier and more comfortable when the hair has the optimum length of 3-4 mm. However, I experienced that the Philips Satinelle grasps hair from 0.5 mm on. So the lenght is up to you, to a certain degree.  ;)

I don't understand which strand you mean in your question: "How long does the strand have to be?!" Please try to explain, will you?

@ all the others who are interested

I've found my strategy.  O0
I tweeze on Saturday, shave on Sunday and Monday to prevent ingrown hair, wait until Saturday, and tweeze again. I'm definitely balder than ever before 8) , but not yet completely bald. But time is on my side.  :)

I started tweezing about a week ago. I had a full head of hair, and started with the to. I did that in two sessions. The took the sides and back down some in a third. Last night my wife got to take out some anger, and finished it off. The results are amazing. I haven't shaved the top since. I just go over it again every couple of days, and plan to follow that with the rest now. I figure it will take a while to get all the new hair still coming in. Like the rest each session involved Motrin and Bud Light. Taking the bulk out at first does hurt like a b$%&h, but the follow up sessions feel kinda good.
